The Key West Community Sailing Center in Key West, Florida, seeks a dedicated Program Director for a full-time role. We're looking for a proactive leader with strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities to shape and oversee our diverse programs for both youth and adults.

This multifaceted position involves various responsibilities, including group instruction, coaching, private lessons, fleet management, clinics, regattas, scheduling, and supervising other instructors. The role offers room for personal and professional growth within our dynamic organization.

Key West offers an idyllic setting for passionate sailors, boasting warm turquoise waters and a vibrant island lifestyle. Nestled amidst one of the largest coral reefs, it's a haven for water sports enthusiasts, from scuba diving to kiteboarding.

The Program Director will report directly to the Executive Director, playing a pivotal role in managing all center activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Full-time position.

Oversight of all education programs, encompassing private and group lessons for youths and adults.

Supervision and scheduling of instructors and volunteers.

Coordination and execution of youth Summer Camp and after-school programs.

Primary liaison for communication with parents of youth participants.

Management and maintenance of the Center's fleet.

Taking a leadership role within the Center.

Certify new members for use of Center boats through a “check out” sail.

Problem-solving and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Contributing to program development and community outreach to boost participation.

Prioritizing safety, enjoyment, and learning in all activities.

Collaborating closely with the Executive Director to expand the Center's reach.

Qualifications:

Minimum certification as a Level 1 US Sailing Instructor (Level 2 or 3 preferred, or willingness to advance to Level 3).

Adept in engaging both kids and adults.

Outstanding interpersonal skills.

Self-motivated, reliable, with excellent time management abilities.

Proficient in organization and computer skills.

High proficiency in small sailboats/dinghies with familiarity in various boat types.

Proficiency in powerboat handling.

Clearance in background and drug tests.

Current Safesport and First Aid certifications.

Basic social media proficiency (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).

A positive and professional demeanor.

Level 1 Junior Sailing Instructor at North Shore Yacht Club

EXPERIENCED LEVEL 1 JUNIOR SAILING INSTRUCTOR WANTED FOR 2024!

The North Shore Yacht Club, founded in 1871, located in Manhasset Bay, Long Island is seeking a Level 1 junior sailing instructor who wishes to pass along their love of sailing. Instructor should be enthusiastic about working with young sailors of all experience levels. The position is for a full time, Monday-Friday, salaried 8 week season beginning June 24,2024.

Candidates should be experienced with Optimists, Picos, and Lasers and be eager to motivate young sailors while providing a fun and safe environment to learn fundamentals and racing skills. Candidates should also be prepared to provide suitable indoor programming when inclement weather prohibits sailing. The ability to recognize the need for and carry out minor maintenance and equipment repair is a plus.

Additional compensation opportunities are available for adult lessons onboard our Colgate 26 and Sonar and certification for adult boat sharing program beginning prior to the Junior Sailing Program and evenings and weekends by appointment. Pay will be at hourly rate or overtime if applicable.

The Viridian Sailing Center, founded in 2016, located in Arlington, Texas is seeking a Level 1 junior sailing instructor who wishes to pass along their love of sailing. Instructor should be enthusiastic about working with young sailors of all experience levels. The position is for a full time, Monday-Friday, salaried 6 week season, starting June 3rd, 2024.

Candidates should be experienced with Optimists and Lasers and be eager to motivate young sailors while providing a fun and safe environment to learn fundamentals and racing skills. Candidates should also be prepared to provide suitable indoor programming when inclement weather prohibits sailing. The ability to recognize the need for and carry out minor maintenance and equipment repair is a plus.

Additional compensation opportunities are available for weekend adult lessons onboard an RS Quest. Pay will be at hourly rate.
