The Key West Community Sailing Center in Key West, Florida, seeks a dedicated Program Director for a full-time role. We're looking for a proactive leader with strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities to shape and oversee our diverse programs for both youth and adults.
This multifaceted position involves various responsibilities, including group instruction, coaching, private lessons, fleet management, clinics, regattas, scheduling, and supervising other instructors. The role offers room for personal and professional growth within our dynamic organization.
Key West offers an idyllic setting for passionate sailors, boasting warm turquoise waters and a vibrant island lifestyle. Nestled amidst one of the largest coral reefs, it's a haven for water sports enthusiasts, from scuba diving to kiteboarding.
The Program Director will report directly to the Executive Director, playing a pivotal role in managing all center activities.
Full-time position.
Oversight of all education programs, encompassing private and group lessons for youths and adults.
Supervision and scheduling of instructors and volunteers.
Coordination and execution of youth Summer Camp and after-school programs.
Primary liaison for communication with parents of youth participants.
Management and maintenance of the Center's fleet.
Taking a leadership role within the Center.
Certify new members for use of Center boats through a “check out” sail.
Problem-solving and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Contributing to program development and community outreach to boost participation.
Prioritizing safety, enjoyment, and learning in all activities.
Collaborating closely with the Executive Director to expand the Center's reach.
Minimum certification as a Level 1 US Sailing Instructor (Level 2 or 3 preferred, or willingness to advance to Level 3).
Adept in engaging both kids and adults.
Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, reliable, with excellent time management abilities.
Proficient in organization and computer skills.
High proficiency in small sailboats/dinghies with familiarity in various boat types.
Proficiency in powerboat handling.
Clearance in background and drug tests.
Current Safesport and First Aid certifications.
Basic social media proficiency (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
A positive and professional demeanor.
